Communities That Care: Strong Communities, Successful Kids

 

Case Study

Communities That Care (CTC) a program of the University of Washington’s Social Development Research Group, asked Josh Daniel and the team at Content Inventions to transform their in-person training process into a compelling digital/video curriculum.

The result: Content Inventions created branding and messaging, a public web site, and an 800-page private training site presenting a series of online workshops. We produced 120 graphics-rich videos in various styles (Ted Talk, documentary, instructional), in just nine months.

The Process:

Content Inventions began the development process by helping CTC articulate its goals and identify stakeholders. Through discovery, we developed a working plan for one training workshop, and site map, branding, and project plan. Next, we applied this strategy across all 12 workshops. We developed the back end for the web sites, and concurrently developed the messaging for the web site and the content for each video, web page, and graphic component. We directed and produced the videos while building the web site front and back end — creating a massive amount of material with a streamlined review process. The final product: An easy-to-use and effective training experience, with different levels of permission, for a variety of stakeholders.

The team: Josh directed and managed all aspects of the content development, site and training IA, and the web & video production/post process. Brad Smith (our partner at Hot Pepper Studios) provided creative direction, and web, technical, and visual production. Cassy Soden oversaw graphic development and production, video post-production, and project-managed.
